I have in my possession an XR6T exhaust (everything but manifold), and I realise it's not ideal and engine light will most likely come on constantly...

BUT... Will it sound like s**t and will it run like s**t? Is 3" too much for an fg 6?

The car right now, is a stock xt. I got the exhaust as a cheap way to prepare for a potential turbo upgrade... But that's some time away and I want some form of an exhaust upgrade NOW... It's so silent, it's driving me nuts...

3" is a lot for the NA FG6...it will probably drone like a b1tch while travelling along the freeway. It will sound different too...probably like a Giant lettin one rip.

Shouldnt be too bad around town, but you will notice it when u put the foot down.

Give it a go and if you dont like it just swap it back.

Throw it on Josh, and if you like the way it runs and sounds, then keep it. Not hard to just swap it back :)

I got a 3" system on mine it was bloody loud. I got a Varex muffler put into it to shut it up.

I'll take that as you volunteering to help krazed? Lol
I need to modify where the cat is, different flange setup. But should be easy done I guess... Might just get an exhaust place to fit it and modify that little bit, cause it also needs a 3" dump at the end so it doesn't melt the xt rear bar lol

Yeah loud is good, better then silent. Will have a little fiddle with the muffler setup too while I'm at it.

Loud is good if it sounds good. 3" exhaust on a car with stock cam will sound like a boat. I wouldn't go a full 3" system unless it was a weekend fun car that has had a fair bit of work done to it.

It's pointless - save the acquired exhaust until you get this planned turbo. Until then if you just want the car to be louder, remove one of the mufflers.
