i am looking at puttin a single 12" Alpine type-R into my Au Falcon.. Does anybody know if it sounds and good in the genuine Alpine box? or does anyone have one in a Custom one? any feedback would be awesome as

They go hard a mate -I run four of em...if amp'd well they can pull very nice figures for a sub that wont cost you n arm and a leg.

As for enclosure - the standard box can vary but most still do a pretty decent job...if for now your not planning on some custom install to show off or going for serious car audio competition it will go awesome.

What amp do u plan to run it off and did u go the SWR-1222D (2ohm DVC) or SWR-1242D (4ohm DVC) model 12" woofer.

i got a dual 2ohm with a Alpine MRD-M605 amp which is supposed to be 600rms at 2ohm. and the sub is in the Genuine Alpine Box. 4 of em must have just bout made ya deaf by now :D

my cuzins got 1 in a subaru liberty and it sounds bloody awsome, not THAT loud or that much bass but cristle clear sound

Just depends on the setup ... ive seen two cars with a single Type S 12" woofer pull just on and the other just over 150db

I rate the pre-fab alpine enclosure very highly. My one is ported and the two S type 12's run very nicely off the MRD-M1005.

In fact they really hammer.

The only problem with the enclosure is that it doesn't fit well on the back boot shelf of the BA. I have lost effectively two thirds of my boot space.

I think I am going to build a proper boot install at some stage, but where do I find the time?

ha yer well i will be running 1 in the boot of a standard AU, in the genuine alpine box with a 600rms amp powering it.. so i wouldnt think it would sound to bad

his got it in the original alpine box, with a alpine monoblock amp (max 500 rms i think not too sure).

i know their capeable of heaps more but he treats it better then his car
