Ok here are some pics of my stereo install. It contains a Kenwood am/fm cd player mounted in dash above the center air vents, factory 6" front speakers, Panasonic 6"x9" rear speakers housed in custom parcel shelf (still under construction), Viscom am/fm dvd/cd/mp3 player, 4" sound tech speakers mounted in custon console, MSS 8" flip down LCD monitor, 7" LCD monitor mounted in dash where factory stereo usually mounts, 8" Jaycar Venom sub housed in a custom rear console/ sub box and a unknow brand 2 x 125watt amp bridged to run the sub. The dash peices housing the cd player and 7" screen are still under constuction.

the rear console is easy to remove. unclip 2 clips and a four pin plug and pull it out. there is a part of the console that isnt in the pics that stays in the car at all times and has the 4" speakers and 2 more cup holders

the dvd player does it all, but it doesnt have a dual circiut and it has a low out put at only 4x 15 watts. with the 2 h/u i am able to run the dvd player and turn off the rear speakers and listen to the front stereo at the same time. I also have a portable fm transmitter so the dvd player can be heard threw all 6 speakers and the sub when i want it to

That is a good idea for all those people that have supras, skylines 200sx due to them only being 4 seater.

That, I would assume is why he has got the switch for the back speakers: for the sake of the kids. My car is the same. Ute has a switch as well but that is primarily so that I don't run the battery flat when I am listening to it while washing etc. 8-)

yeh I have a similair setup thru a solenoid...just have a switch to cut off the link to the starter battery...that way I can happily run the system off the 2x rear batteries in parrallel and still be able to start the car just incase :P
