hey everyone. i have an old Pioneer HU. it only has 2 RCA outputs on the back of it but i have a 4 Channel amp. I was told that when u split the 2 RCA wires into 4 (like using an adaptor) ull lose some power going into the amp so it wont be as loud as it could be even if the amp is running at full. Is this true or can i just split the RCA and still receive the same amount of power?
cheers phong =P~

power loss, altho its there, its minimal, ur hu has enough power to drive a split source so go for it and trust me you wont notice the difference

i just thought of this recently. the RCA's send the signal to the amp so that the amp can amplify it. so does that mean i can use the rear speaker cables turn them into RCA male plugs and just plug it into the amp? or is that just plain stupidity?

nah dont do that because rca is low level signal where as speaker levels are amplified from the headunit not good for ur amp at all, prolly make it smoke good n proper
