What do people think about 4x 12" pioneer 800watt subs connected to, two 4 channel 900watt amps in the back of a XE Fairmont Ghia? is there any chance of smashing the rear window or anything. b4 i do it? just wondering before i buy it all. also 4 x 6x9 pioneers front and back. with 2 tweeters in the front? what people think? thanks blake.

Is it a show car? IF so, go for it and have a stupid amount of subs
If not, buy a couple of much better subs. Use monoblock amps. Use 6.5" splits as 6x9's aren't needed with subs. This is if you want it to sound good. [edit] Also, those "800 Watt" TS-W302R Pioneer subs are not very good. |

Yea forget the 6by9's use 6.5inch all around! And 4 subs wont smash the window But whats the point?? You should just go get two nice 12inch subs will sound a lot better

Totally agree with not running subs of 4ch amps i tried that a couple of time's they just arnt up to it regardless of what the advertising says just go for a mono block amp and two subs two star if your short money, you can always add a second amp and two more subs later if needed, dont compromise on quality i did and i bought every part of my stereo twice which costs soooo much more in the long run...

so dnt bridge the subs? u mean? ive got a 800watt sub on a 400watt amp bridged as a cheap sound system. like $600 system and that pumps like crazy. was almost as good as my mates $2000 system. i seriously dont know wat to do now Lol.

i have a champion series pioneer 12" with dual 4ohm voice coils running in two ohm mode off a 800w pioneer mono $500 and it pumps HARD... if you were to get another mono and sub ie 2 800w amps and 2 12" pioneer subs it would own....

alrighttt. what about the speakers? i was thinking 2 tweeters in front and 2 in the back with 2 subs in the back and then maybe put another 2 in there when i get the car into the "showcar" if tht makes sence? lol

Do you know what tweeters are? They're usually 1" speakers that only product high frequencies... Like symbals and stuff in music. Then you you'll have your subs that only really play drums and bass guitar. Where do you expect vocals and lead guitar or whatever to come from????
The above is why we recommended splits... Not JUST tweeters. Splits come with tweeter, woofer and crossover to split the right frequencies to the right speaker. See below: |

You're better off spending $400 on a single good 12" sub over 4 x average subs and a mono block for subs over 4 channels. Personally I would get 2 x 8" DD (Digital Design) comp subs...each worth close to $400 I think. 1 x 8" sub is better then my 2 x 10" Pioneer subs combined (mainly because they are free-air) and it has more power handling (RMS) then both my current subs.
Just depends what you're going for, Sound Quality (SQ) or Sound Pressure Level (SPL). But to answer your original question...no I wouldn't get 4 x 12" subs. More subs doesn't necessarily mean louder.
