hey,
iv got some Focal 165V2s that i want to put in the front of my Ford EBII GLi im unsure if i will need pods as the speakers might be to deep for the factory positions. the magnet size is rated at 84mm, but when i got it out of the box and measured it from back to front its only about 70mm deep so please any EBII-ED owners with this model speaker or any other speaker with a depth size of 84mm or more can you please PM me or post here, thanks heaps Daniel

cant answer you much but u can get spacers - plastic - or i machined stainless steel ones -
them and pods are easy to fit |

Focal's are VERY deep. As a result it won't fit in the doors. You will need pods.. Actually I have a few pictures of a Falcon with Focal's and pods. Add me on MSN and I can send them to you. Will sound a lot better and the mid bass will be there as long as you feed them plenty of power.

In my EF i'm using pro range pioneer spilts and they're pretty big. i thought they were about 90mm but I just checked dimensions and they're 61mm so I was gonna say you shouldn't have a problem but now I'm having second thoughts since focals do have a high mounting depth.

can almost guarantee that focals wont fit
so in that case you can either fit door pods or work out a way of mounting the speaker to the door trim rather than the door. but the perfect choice, but it may work ok. meanwhile, feed the focals as much power as you can afford to.

yer im goin to probably get door pods, would sound better
im powering them from an Audison Srx2 which will give them 65Wrms of CLEAN power! i know its a bit low but for my budget Audison was a great choice
