Howdy.
I have an EF XR6 with the optional 6 stacker CD player and I think it's jammed. The CD display is showing an L and an I and I can't eject any CD's. I've told the local Ford dealer about it and they said that they don't fix 'em, they replace 'em. Anyone know how to fix this issue??? |

i've opened up a 6 disc changer that was jammed before. just fiddled with it - gently. eventually i found a spot that i could push and prod and pull the disc out.
try with power connected and with it disconnected. just be careful not to short anything. otherwise, find out who makesit (phillips, alpine, etc) and send it to em. this option is gonna cost you a hundred or so.

Thanks guys. much appreciated. I think I'll have a crack at it myself and if that doesn't work and I f**k it, I'll buy a new one.
Cheers. |

Yeah, the local Ford dealer quoted $99.00 for a replacement.

Yep. $99.00 for the cartridge. I just thought I'd ask anyone if there was an easy fix for it before I lightened the bank account
