hery guys, my 6 stacker in the boot of my el fairmont ghia is always skipping when ever i turn my music up over about a 1/4 of the systems capacity, ( i lisen to rovk and heavy metal like metallica dope, fear factory)

anyway is there something i could do to the disk tray to stop it skipping? put a small layer of foam or rubber around it?

Hey mate, I think I had a similar problem when I bought the car, but then it went away over time.

Two things i did which may have helped were: putting rubber between the sacker and the frame (Under the 'U' part of the bracket above the stacker), and also repairing the factory parcel shelf sub/ getting a new one to reduce the vibration.

That and I think the previous owner never used the stacker so it had to be sort of "worn in" again, if you know what i mean. As in keep using it until it stops jumping.
Also try cleaning the lense if you can.

I don't know what you call it, but the thing that reads the disk; Laser, optical reader?
