Ciggy, not sure about WA but in Vic it is illegal to cut the parcel shelf, even make holes bigger! So spacers are then required. Finding a set trimmed in the same material is very difficult so you have to use those cheapies from JB or strathfield, and they degrade the Falcon interior.

I personally have never heard a set of 6x9's sound good for as long as i have been into Car audio. Only prior to that.

Small sub and amp sound 100 times better, 100% legal and installs look neater too!

Hi all,

I used to say the same as everybody else but have had the chance to try 6X9's in the same series as the 6.5's that I have and with HPF running them they sound awsome and are no longer struggling to keep up with the splits in the front, as a result the 6.5's were tossed and in with the 6X9's. So if you have the ability to tune them then go with the 6X9's even if you are planning on subs.

my 2c worth anyway.

those little grills are there to vent cabin pressure to the boot !
when you shut the doors the pressure goes throught there in to the boot and out the left lower 1/4 panel vent behind the left 1/4 trim

Hmmm, my pressure probably just gets through my crappy door seals. Dodgy repair job by the former owners.

Wouldn't bother fixing that though unless I one day end up having the two front door's sag problems fixed.

Way off topic I know, my bad.

I always wondered about this - and now you've answered it. I didn't see any reason why 6x9's high-passed couldn't sound as good if not better than a set of 6" speakers on a rear shelf. Thanks man
