97 EL Fairmont Ghia - cannot train new remote - pressed demister 3 times while on acc - no sound of any doors locking so i can train the remote. This is a brand new remote - but the car i bought privately with no remote - all interior lights work and central lock with key works fine. The fuses are good and all interior lights turn off when i turn the car ON. The smartlock light works as normal flashing 24/7 and turning off when I switch to ON position any ideas what could be the problem

make sure all doors are closed

turn the key ONCE

press demist THREE tmes

wait fr door locks to cycle

press any button in the keypad

if th locks dont cycle then te bem is not in program mode also you donthave to push the demist button really ast fr it to register either a simple 1 2 3 will work

the thing decided to work now all programmed ok thanks
