Maybe someone can help me... I have a spare dvd player sitting around, and some spare car speakers (6x9's)... am I able 2 maybe buy a set of ac chords, cut the far end off them, and add wires to it to plug into the 6x9's to use them as a stereo for out in the shed? would that work or would the chords stuff up when u cut them?
also obviously the speakers r made to run at 12v yeh? would the speakers just blow if i tried running them through the dvd player? Im just curious cause I dont have a cd player for the shed for when im doin work out there |

Hey mate.
The wire will work ok for that kind of application. Probably a bit stuff and tricky to work with, but other than that should be ok. But the output from the DVD player wont be high enough - it will need amplification or you'll never hear it. I reckon you'd be better of getting a cheap PC speaker/subby setup - they have amplifiers built into them and you'll just have to get rid of the TRS plug on the speaker line and fit RCA connectors to plug into DVD player.

so I wont hear it with car speakers, but if I get some speakers from a computer, they should work? all id have 2 do is do what i was going to and cut end of and connect RCA chords to go into player? May have to buy some cheap pc speakers, will the volume be quite loud?
