BA MkII XT
Hi I have run heavy 6mm cables to an outlet at the rear to connect to my caravan refrig. This is to only run whilst the accessories are on, have a relay which will switch this cable and circuit breaker for protection, looking to connect the relay to an accessories wire, where is the best place to find one under dash or in engine bay. Cant drop down drive side fuse panel, the hood release handle is in way, how does this come off?, can the fuse panel drop.? I had this set up working on my AUII, but sold to upgrade to this, cables on AU wasnt as tightly loomed as BA, also not knowing what cable does what on the BA, dont want to hook in to wrong wire, with all the computers on board, I cant get a decent wiring diagram. I am an Electrician by trade Any one with ideas |

get a decent wiring diagram? once you've got that, you should be set. the obvious line to go for would be a radio line or power window line.

Back of the cigarette lighter is always a good source for acc power - particularly if you only planning to run a relay on that circuit...
Ps welcome to Fordmods. Get some pics of your ride up

Dont use a standard ciggy lighter socket it wont handle the current. I used a 40amp accessories socket.

Are you running a 2 way or 3 way fridge??? I would assume 3 way by your settup. Also do you have on board batteries in the van???
Easiest way is to jump off the back of the Accessories Fuse / Circuit breaker, or just jump off the cig lighter or anything with acc power to switch the relay. As you said you have run this way before, so would be the same. |

Furtherto my post back in May, system worked well, finally found how to get 6mm cables from engine bay to boot via under sill, and after removing back seat, finally into to boot.
Thanks for the advice Next project to retro fit rear parking sensors. |
