Hey guys,
Just brought a new semi auto aeropro antenna to replace the original one as it wasnt retracting fully, on the pack it says the antenna has a mast length of about 99cm but when i tested it it would only extend to about 25cm. Have i got a dodgy one or is there something i am missing? Thanks.

As in tested it on the car? or off a battery.
If it's of the car have you checked whether the antenna buttons been pressed or not>?

Ok next problem,
I've had to cut and join the coax antenna cable because the new one was way to short now i've got s**t reception. Is this caused by the join maybe bad connection or loss of signal strength? I went down to d**k smiths and what they gave me was 2 male ends and a female to female connection to join them together. Is there an better way do do this? Thanks.

I know it's not ideal, but can you dismantle the new antenna and install the co-ax wire from the old antenna (if it's still OK)?
