sorry to hijack this thread but does anyone know how to wire up the boot release to a viper alarm system? At the moment it isnt hooked into the alarm at all and i want it to be so i can remote open it and so the alarm goes off if its opened when the alarm is armed.

I've got a Python which may be similar - I think they are made by the same company.
When I installed my alarm, the Blue wire which was Zone 1 (trunk or hood pinswitch), is used to temporarily bypass sensor inputs while activating auxiliary channels. Any time a channel is used, all inputs are bypassed for 5 seconds. During this 5 seconds, ground can be supplied to the Blue wire without triggering the unit. When the five second bypass period is over, if the unit sees ground on the blue wire, all trigger inputs except for the doors will remain bypassed until 5 seconds after ground is removed from the blue wire. (The above is pretty much verbatim of the installation manual) Your alam may be wired totally different, so check which wire is connected to the boot pinswitch, and check for a blue wire. If you have the original wiring diagram, i should be able to help, even if its a work-around. Hope this helps.

Is there a boot release output on your alarm? As Gizmo said we'll need your manual, but don't post it up on here otherwise anyone will be able to break into your car.. lol

ok well from the installation manual i have a door trigger input (+), a trunk trigger input (-), another door trigger input (-), and activation input (-), a ground when armed output, 200mA channel 2 validity output (-) and a 200mA domelight output (-) but the thing is door trigger output and the trunk trigger output are already in use. Anyone have any ideas?
