G'day mate,

I recomend a brand called Auto Watch.

they are a fantastic brand, they cater for everything, and you can get every sensor known to man to connect to it.

I know the supplier over hear on the east coast and can get one in for you cheap if you find someone to instal it over there!

picked up a alarm imobeliser from ebay for $200 it has just about everything u need. remote start, shock sensor, boot release, pager keypad and spare keypad. I think they still sell it on ebay the brand is mannix and the model no. is SM-700. It came from malaysia. but it is flawless. worth a look if ur interested. ive seen similar systems advertised for about $400-$600

Question - when you install an aftermarket alarm into the car, does that mean you then have to have two remotes? One for the cars keyless entery and one to disarm the alarm?

By the way, saw on eBay.com.au a genuine Ford upgrade alarm kit for the EF falcon. It's pretty much plug and play set up to the Smartlock.

What sort of alarms can plug and play with smartlock to allow you to use your original remote?

MOST alarms should be able to hook up with the smartlook so that then u only have 1 remote

I wouldn't say MOST Alarms! Only an Upgrade alarm will work with an existing system such as smartlock. Most of these upgrade alarms are set by the central locking curcuit.

daniel

remote start will work on ur el as long as it is an auto, unleaded and injected.
heaps of stuffing around if the car is a manual.
mine was installed by garys car audio with no problems.
dont know of anyone in the south east but u could try jbhifi or strathfield.

costs between 160-200 to install. it is well worth it
