Hey there,
Im getting alternator noise from my speakers, but the thing is, the power and rca cables are running either side, so it can't be that, main problem is, the noise comes and goes, and only comes out of the front drivers side speaker, along with some crackling noises. Can someone guide me into what is the problem? thanks - Ash

Most head units don't have RCA fuses that I have seen. I would be checking the integrity of the rca cables and also the grounding of the head unit....

What type of unit is it? Pioneer?
And I have seen this happen to many a unit.

mate, i work at pioneer, if its one of our hu's its blown the rca fuse, usually due to an improperly grounded amp. a bad ground will force the amp to source ground through the headunit. that will give you a hell of alot of altinator noise. it happens alot with our units due to bad wiring!

I know and that was my point that it seems to be Pioneer units that have these fuses....

Hey, yeah it is a pioneer head unit, but its a dvd screen one, i've heard plenty of altenator noises in cars, but this one seem to ONLY be coming from the front RHS speaker, and is off and on, which i can't fathem why its doing it, and its only just started....
thanks - Ash

To test the RCA ground rail fuse, get a piece of wire, and wedge it in the ring of the RCA outputs of the headunit. Run the other end to ground. See if that fixes the problem.

Thanks guys for that, i'll have to get to it soon,
I figured out the crackling and cutting out noise, the RCA's that go into the amp are dodgy, their a good brand, but I think all the connections are loose, gonna have to re-soilder the connections from the wire to the RCA jack as their not soo good. Put back my Alpine amp, instead of the pioneer one,.....my god does it kick
