thats it more heat = more resitance = less power/current can flow thru to the end component

Running hot doesn't cause a significant(audible) drop in output... The heat protection circuit will though. The Jaycar amps that i've overheated would attenuate themselves when they got too hot.

How come everyone hasnt mentioned anythin about the ohms?
If your speakers(or sub) are wired to 2 ohm, and you pumpin that throu a 4 ohm only amp, this will cause the amp to overheat as well and cut out. Cant beleive no-one mentioned this...
