ook well id say there at least 500w RMS subs most likely 600w RMS ... and dual 4ohm coils...does each sub have two sets of positive and negative terminals or one one set ?...this is per sub?

hey big kev, i have got two 12inch sony xplod xs-L1255G subs the peak power is 1200 watts and impedance is 4ohms cant find the RMS.
just wondering what would be a good amp for them. i was thinking of a mono block amp
what you reckon??

ok in that case it will most likely only be a single 4ohm coil....may not be but most with dual voice coils are manufactured with one set of terminals per coil....broadening cutomisation options....and powering an individual coil with an amp is a nice touch :P

deciding factor is your budget mate.....for amp and appropriate size cabling...maybe fuse size upgrade...but yeh...

How much would u realistically spend?

That sub after alot of searching lol nominal power rating is 400w RMS - 1200w Peak ... so to power it (keeping things SONY if you like....dont have to...dunno if u like to keep a theme or dont care..) youd be looking at the ...actually nah lookin at Sonys website f**k that....their highest mono block @ $899 is 600w RMS @ 2ohm load...alpines MRD-1005M will do 1000w RMS minimum @ 2 ohm load for same price.

So yeh round $800+ ya gonna get more than enough power....for both those subs to run at their potential...stable and with room to breathe..or room to upgrade the subs later...and all from one amp.

You wouldt need anything more than that because honestly these are nice subs for everyday listening and havin some fun at a spl comp day or something....they arent trophy winners....so dont go spending big for those subs.....be a nice setup tho...I love multiple 12"s :P

forget these big w rating you need to only look at the wRMS rating as this the nominal or continuos power out put the amp can provide to your subs...the peak value like the sub...is the power the component can perform for very very short periods of time...any longer and simple it will die.....

Do u know the specs of this boss amp ? or what it can handle ?
