So you've got the remote wire from the head unit wired to the correct spot on the amp?

Head unit will have two power inputs, one connects to a constant source of 12V (normally labelled +12V, BATT, + or similar). And the second one is supposed to come from the accessories circuit (labeled as ACC, or SWITCHED). Both the circuits are availble in the factory loom (colours elude me right now).

If you've connected both to the always on (battery) circuit teh HU will not turn off, the trigger will not turn off, thus the amp won't turn off.

It won't be the remote (aka trigger) wire if the HU stays on as well. It's the HU miswired.

Whats the power rating of both amps - easy way is just add together the fuse ratings on both amps, if it's less or equal to 120A a 4GA cable will do the job.

e.g. I've got two amps, both have 3x20A fuses (so 120A in total), I run 4GA, with a 120A fuse, no problems.

So that's only 80A maximum. 4GA will handle that fine.

if your headunit dosent have a remote wire as some dont, just wire the remote on the amp to the power source to the ciggy lighter, same difference.
