Ok, I've done it, and here's how:
Here are the speaker wire colours and their easiest accessible locations (kick panels) Forgive it not being a ford, but meh. The passenger kick panel's speaker wires are at the bottom of the big orange plug: Here are the wires you need: You need to connect extension wires to the speaker cable and leave the ICC side of it unplugged. Here's a pic showing which side to connect to: And this is the loom under the driver's kick panel that has the right front speaker wires in it: So yeah, wire up a bunch of extensions, thread them through the dash etc and connect up to the new head unit. If you're mounting a sub and amp, this kick panel is a good place to run your power cable too. Just push it through the bonnet release cable's grommet and into the bonnet: Finished product looks something like this: If anyone's got any questions about how i've done any of this, feel free to PM.

Shoony, Howd you get the head unit to look so Flush on the bottom in the tissue tray? I wana do this for mine so i can use my Pioneer MP3 Player. Also im thinking i should splice into the speaker wire for the Factory head unit rather than cutting. And awesome guide as well, ive already printed it off in preparation for the weekend now that i have my new amp and the car is finally back from the shop

That looks like one of the DNA branded one DIN replacement pockets. It's made to fit flush.

Sorry about being absent for a bit, had other stuff on.
It is a DNA brand fascia, obtainable thru most car audio shops, sometimes even super-cheap. When sliding the fascia+head unit into its slot, be careful to tuck any cabling up behind the ICC otherwise you'll have isses getting it to fit in. Because of this, my head unit is a little skew to one side but meh, it doesn't really bother me. For those attempting to 'splice' the speaker cables instead of disconnecting, I would warn you to do this very carefully. If your head unit is high-powered, you could conceivably push some high current the wrong way into the stock ICC and damage it, or even have excessive noise because of the two systems using the same lines. If you have the patience, you could attempt to re-run the stock cabling back to the centre as well, and then create some sort of switch between head units to be safe. Having said that, since installing this, I have never felt the need to use the stock ICC for anything except its clock and a handy 6-cd storage case! Happy modding, and please, if you have any questions don't hesitate to PM

just hook up a high series overlay with the colour screen and then attach a car puter,
easy, lol, then you can play games on the drive, need for speed or gran turismo, lol

Hello, Bloody nice install mate!!
This is my deck install, it isnt finished yet cuz im deciding what to do with the big gap around the deck. And it tends to get a little hot so i wanna put some sort of heat sink or fan arrangement in there. And i know what your thinking, "wouldn't that hit the gear stick?". Its dam close, about 2mm between the screen and the gear stick when its retracting. I used 2 90 degree 3mm thick steel brackets to mount mine. And drilled holes into them in the position the deck would be. Then went to bunnings got some longer screws and viola Hmmmm, i wonder if alberts car stereo have that silver fascia.

Easiest place to grab that, is from the power at the cig lighter.

or you can connect it to the battery also,
that way you will be able to turn the head unit on and off without a key
