...to those whome said it was impossible........evidence that it can be done...and for those who will complain about the little crack and the ruff finish this is just my mock up to make a fiberglass plug and thus i will make a fiberglass one that will be perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A diode is only good for DC The major use of higher powered diodes is in the conversion of AC to DC... But correct about don't do it, if placed in the power lines of the ICC it does nothing to isolate the output stages of each unit. If used in the speaker feeds it still don't work as the speaker feeds are AC and this will not block the other unit but will distort the sound and may blow the speakers as they do not like DC. Best use a relay driven from the amp line of the second HU to isolate or changeover the speakers.

Shouldn't effect the speakers as far as i know. |

Hey all sorry bout Reviving this thread and as i stated in my previous posts i never got around to fitting an Aftermarket head unit at all....(renovations and other commitments). In saying that i have a query about antenna as well....if i fit an aftermarket head unit how will i get Radio to work as listen to Triple J alot and really cant live without the radio
 .Does anyone have an answer on this?

The antenna plug into the ICC is exactly same as any other head unit. So it plugs right in.

Hi all i need help urgently...... i bought the fascia and installed it all exactly as instructed on here....After installation my car will not start anymore...it cranks then fires, starts for about 1 second the then shuts off.
I thought maybe i had wired something wrong so i went back and removed all the headunit wiring and reconnected everything back to the ICC and no luck.... What have i done...have i blown a fuse? i urgently need some feedback please or i wont be able to go to work come monday

Bet the rear plug on the ICC isn't in properly.

Geez its been a while since i spoke on this thread. Anyways found my initial problem, I cut the wrong wire`s in the right hand kicker..i went back and ripped all the work i had done out and connected everything back into the ICC.
Anyway i attempted another install this weekend as i bought a new head unit to match the interior cluster green lights and am happy to say it was a success Ive attached a photo. Thanks shoony for all the information

Just wondering, im in the process of doing this in my BA and im stuffed about which yellow wire it is on the right hand side for power. are they all constant or is it a specific one?

Hey Super Nes, where did you get your fascia, the one with USB inputs?
Also, I've installed sub and amp with hi-lo converter, replaced front and rear speakers however sound quality isn't very good at all... speakers are soundstream 5x7s in front and 6x9's in rear, I know they are good speakers but they sound terribly flat... would this be the result of the stock ICC? Would the sound improve with an amp to run the speakers only or would it just be better to install a new deck and run the fronts and rears from that? cost would be roughly the same as I'd be installing myself... I need better quality sound!!!! |
