well the boss 12" 1000watts subs are like $69-89
it's a good starting point in my books
plus you get sub and box
then if you need more power
you can always piss off the amp for $50-60
and buy a better Amp

my 2 cents

No, it'll sound pretty average, but you're not really going to find anything cheaper.

Boss is known be pretty much the worst of worst car audio that you can buy.

From experience, i'd recommend you be patient and save a bit more for something decent.

For $169.00 I'd take it if your budget can't stretch any further. You can use it for a while, and when you can afford to upgrade later. But personally I'd say it's going to be more than loud enough.

agree with Aaron here....but in saying that it really depends on what ya after...if ya budget is stretched and ya after just a nice lil bassy system that sounds good for cruising then hey its a nice lil starting point...plus if ya havent heard many decent systems then that will sound quite good too u :P ... but yeh if ya thinkin to go in comps and stuff give it a go and have fun but just dont expect too much....but for the money its a nice lil package and on the cheap so yeh :)
