In my opinion (and i have had experience) your money would be better used on something else like another brand ...... or flushing down the toilet.

Boss audio is getting better, but it is far from something that you would use hard earned money leave your wallet for. I had a 2 x 250 rms boss amp, which worked fine. And still does, although they have to get cooled all the time as they overheat like a b**ch and cut out. Although at least this model has heat protection cut out on it, otherwise my car would have been a flaming pile of chargrilled falcon. It got to annoying when it cut out every couple of minutes on full bass. It worked well was crisp and gave good consistant power until it got to hot.

Boss is the cheap and nasty of the audio world, i would not pay for the gear ever again.

Keep in mind it did work well when ventilated correctly.

if you baby it, treat it very well, don't turn the gains up on the amp much or anything it'll survive a year.
it's not the best, but it's dirt cheap. i've got two mates with boss sub and amp in there cars, had em for about a year and a half and they;'ve run without any problems. think they paid less than 150 for the set up, and there happy with it. all depends what your after i guess.

I got a BOSSaudio amp to start with along with there subs...luckily it came with some sorta warranty cauz i got 3 new ones in one 1yr and swapped a sub too! Yeah over heating was a b**ch too...but hey like they say ya get wat ya pay for (in most cases).
once i was outta warranty got rid of it all quick smart.
Save a bit extra money and get a decent brand...worth the wait
well in my opinion anyway!

I got one of those BOSS "1000W" four channel amps, (yeah right, 1000W, bah!).

Its running the standard fronts on my EF and a 12"sub in a sealed box. Seems to do the job, transplanted it from my excel when I sold it. I've had it for about 2 years now, the gains on the rear channels (bridged into sub) has always been at the max and I thrash it nearly everyday. Never had a problem with it, but I do drive with the backseats down so it can share the benifit of the air con.

Some of the Boss oens come with an inbuilt fan, which would be annoiying if the amp- was near you as you'd probably hear the fan, but might be an idea if over heating is a problem with the amps.

If you want something cheap... boss audio is what ur looking for... however, i would go jaycar as theyre amps are the same money and better quality build \ components.

Btw... from experience Boss Audio better ($200+) amps are pretty good, for the money ---->>>> but yeah... they DO get PRETTY HOT after some usage.
