hey guys i WAS running an alpine mono block amp with 2 kenwood db+ series 12"subs up untill yesterday when both subs decided to crap themselves.

the spider cables broke off both of them, and one of them... well the whole cone came off the metal part, it looks like its glued on so nothing actually ripped or broke.

is the above damage repairable?? if so who does it??? (in syd) thanks for your help guys.

u can glue the cone back onto the metal...but if the foam surround has ripped or come off....then fat chance of having the same sounds as if it was new. get newer and better ones....and don't stress the subs out too much next time

phong =P~

Its not really worth repairing those subs, save you money and get a decent sub

thanks for the feedback guys, you see heres the story, i got the subs for free off my brother (i think now i know why he gave them to me haha) i didnt want them but i thought it wouldnt cost much to get a cheap amp and so on, after getting excited i bought the amp off daniel, a box and wiring so it ended up costing me $450 in the end, and now this happened and i dont really want to spend too much money on fixing the problem, but if its going to cost a bit to fix then i think ill just get one new 12 or 15". there was too much bass with two 12 and because of the gas i had absolutely no boot space.

so yeah i probably will get a new sub.i think the problem was that i didnt tune the amp once i put them in, only had them in for about 3 weeks and was "getting" around to tuning the amp....
