Hey

was quickly wondering

ive got a problem with my AU series 2 central locking when i press lock it just beeps on me , the drivers door doesnt go down the lock ,

dont know how to explain , but if i lock it from the key , the ECU tells the other 3 doors to lock which they do perfectly

so this means the drivers door acurator /motor is broken correct ?

i was trying to adjust a setting with central locking , holding both lock and unlock to change so all doors unlock and this happens at same time such luck

Before you go racing off to buy a new Door lock, try a new battery or another Remote if the battery doesn't fix it. The batteries are cheap and can be gotten nearly anywhere, it is a CR2032 and most camera places have them and Kmart, BigW, etc.

Always check the easy/cheap stuff first. :)

If a new Lock is indeed needed, don't buy a used one, more often than not you will get one that is as bad or almost as bad as what you have. When you get a NEW one you will need to get a patch harness and a new door lock rod.

AU/BA have same lock and latch and central locking actuator.
Different arm ,door handle exterior, to latch mechanisim.
Electronic central locking actuator assembly, prone to internal failure,
it is easy to dissamble and check
Black plastic module is easy to identify,
is attached to latch mechanism with 2 posidrive screws.
Split case of module , 4 posi drive screws.,
Check electric mtr turns freely
check cross shaft ,has a*** external thread ,with a sliding block
which is internally threaded

THIS CROSS SHAFT IS VERY PRONE TO BREAK AT THE GEAR DRIVE END
Ihave just today done 3 out of 4 on my cash cow BA

Ps If left un fixed it will probably lead to BEM /BCM FAILURE
this has just happened to me .
THIS WILL COST you at least $800 ,,,,my original warning from ford dealer
was to expect $2500..........

PPs Apparently yoy cant just change BEM s etc ford dealer must ,initialise
BEM/BCM to rest of the network ,its a bit like Bill F Gates and MICRO soft
