Hey boys..

I have a couple of questions...

1. They say 9 speaker sound system - wtf i only counted 7 (2 Splits, 2 front door, 2 rear shelf and one sub)

2. If i get this deck {DESCRIPTION} or anyother aftermarket deck, the factory amp and sub wont work with that deck right? So i have to get an aftermarker amp...

3. I have a LPG tank, any danger with running 2 x 12"s in the boot?

4. Sound i keep the factory speakers (connected to new deck) - minus the sub - change the deck to that one ^^^ and get 2 x 12"s with new amp? Or change the whole lot? I dont wanna spend too much to i guess option one.

Thanks :)

Be careful buying headunits of E-Bay.
It's not so bad if they are located in Australia and have an ABN, but the ones that ship from other countries can be a bit dodge.
Also, if it's over a certain value, you can get hit up by customs for tax.
The Aus designation for that Headunit is DEH-P1Y.

1. What about the rear door? Have you got two in the rear doors?

3. Be prepared to lose a lot of boot space. And of course you need to work at what way your gonna mount them, and fire them. Firing them into the cabin through the gas tank, isn't going to be the best. My friend with Gas, is making a false wall, and mounting his two amps on that, and then building his single 15" sub into the spare wheel well.

4. Personally & a lot of others would rather sound than just bass. If you upgrade and get your 2 x 12s, with the factory speakers, your subs will overkill your cabin speakers, and you'll get mostly bass. If i were you, i'd get a headunit, and all new speakers.
A decent set of splits, say $250-300 then some ok 5x7s to replace the rears $120. It'll go loud, and have some bass. Then look at going your subs later down the track. Then sell your premium sound (as there are a few buyers looking for these). Sell it to re-coup some of the costs, or use the money and put it towards an amp for your cabin speakers or a sub.

I don't think you NEED one.
But I dunno what quality the stock premo sound amp is like in the AU's.
Do they still use Alpine for the premo sound in AU's?
Or did that stop after the ED's?

Just keep it all stock - sometimes it is not worth all the bother of changing your equipment - waste of time and money (in my opinion).

My stereo is eight speaker, I only counted siz speaker elements like you:

2 x dashboard

2 x front foors

2 x rear parcel shelf

None in rear doors, but parcel shelf speakers are supposed to be two way, hence the eight speaker sound system.

Isn't the standard AU system good enough?

My stereo is eight speaker, I only counted six speaker elements like you:

2 x dashboard

2 x front doors

2 x rear parcel shelf

None in rear doors, but parcel shelf speakers are supposed to be two way, hence the eight speaker sound system set up.

Isn't the standard AU system good enough?
