I was just wondering wether you could somehow disable the noise cut down on the standard head deck in a series 2 au.

My stereo automaticly cuts down at a certain volume even though it can go alot higher.

Any suggestions?????

Mode PL OFF. Maybe what your after.

I've got the same head unit. But I have never encountered cut outs at certain volumes. If the PL is OFF then the distrotion from the speakers is less at higher volumes. Thats all I know.

thanks i'll try that.

It's not really a distortion it just wont let it go over a certain volume.if it is say just talkin on the radio then it don't matter but if its music with a lot of bass then it cuts it down. i mean the volume goes to 35 but it cuts out at about 20 - 22.

Is it normal or what???

Sounds like the PL mode trying to cut out distortion. Try lowering your base and trebble settings, this may aleviate too much volume dimming.

Or, just get a better head unit, I will be eventually.

Yeah i will be, but do you think it would be better to get a different amp and speakers and keep the head unit or just go the hole hog.

Get the lot done. Usually with a new head unit it will mean more power. Therefore you need bigger speakers and an amp. Remember you dont have an amp with your current set up. The amp (if you have one) is situated in the boot behind the carpet on the RHS. There is a bracket there to mount an amp if you buy one. There should already be a sub mount in the center of your parcel shelf.

Wierd... I never had that problem.

If you get an aftermarket head-unit, and get all new speakers. It will sound 5 times better than it does now. Both clearer, and louder.

Then if you want to get serious, and get speakers that can handle a fair bit of power amp them.
