Anywayz, I'm currently upgrading the factory stereo system in my AU1 XR8 and I'm having trouble with adding an 8" subwoofer into the parcel tray.
I have the sub, and I managed to purchase the foam gasket spacer that fits between the top of the speaker and the underside of the parcel shelf. What I can't seem to find is the speaker grill!!
Is there one available or did they not actually install a grill for this sub?
I'm imagining they would cause they wen't to the trouble of specially moulding a curved gasket, so why not a grill to match?
I imagine the grill must be special because that part of the shelf curves upwards to cover the center brake light in the rear window.....so a standard flat grill dosen't firt. I know this cause the Ford dealer sourced me a sub grill from a similar year Fairlane and its flat, like the other speakers. Looking at a few photos of the Fairlane it shows that there is no center brake light and thus the parcel shelf is flat.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, because I'm almost finished with the install!!
I even managed to modify the steering wheel controls to interface with my new Pioneer H/U plus add an extra button(for source selection)!!
