Hey guys, as you ppl have already seen from my first install in my 1993 ED Futura, i kinda like Fords and love car audio, so much so, ive started on my second major stereo boot install and both main factors are there, theres a stereo and its a falcon.......

anyway...with a bit of luck i'll be updating this thread about once (1) a week to show u the progress

anyway for now, heres some pics of my baby and a brief description of whats hopefully going to be the end result ..

**a quick note - incase anyone wants to try and track this car down using the number plates- the plates themselves got stolen!! HAHA **

anyway, in that i plan to install

HU - Alpine 9815
Fronts - Boston FS60's
Rears - Boston FS60's
Boot lid underside - Signat H16 Mids and ST120 Tweets
Subs - 2 x RF P2's
Splits amp - Eclipse 36401
Sub amps - Signat Dig2-200 (1 each sub)

anyway....quick heads up on the install, is gonna consist of a lot of fibreglassing, hinged floor (hopefully lift assisted by struts), white perpex, covered bootlid including speakers, and fibreoptic lighting effects...

anyway...laters all......SQRL

the bodykit on it is a C2R 'Havoc' bodykit and thats what the grill, skirts and bumpers look like :) and the lights on the back are the DEPO 'black chrome' ones that u see getting sold on ebay all the time.

well.....go to do a bit more on the install, and im finding the everytime i go back to my normal job, i get kinda bored easily, so i wonder which one i like doing more......HAHA.....

anyway, i managed to get the back half of the subbox's fibreglassed, its sucked cos i had to wait for it to all dry so about the only other major thing i got done was to mount the base support rail for the fibreglass side panelling and the sub rings mounted.......the rest of the stuff i did was just a whole load of small stuff that cant really be seen....

Awesome! I can't wait to see the finished setup.

My future setup should look very similar. How have you fixed down the base? Could you get some close ups of this etc? This has been my biggest dilemma so far...

I got a legalities question for ya.

When I get back to Australia I'm looking to do something similar, but how does the police, Road worthy and spare tyre fit together when you've created a fake floor covering it?

For road worthy, you need the spare tyre in the boot, but what if you physically can't easily access it?

Install looks good though :)

The false floor is hinged. That would be the whole reasoning behind it, otherwise I don't think he would have bothered

hey guys, first to answer a few questions....

as james said...i listened to quite a few splits, and liked the sound of the ones i chose the best..logical....

also, i think i read somewere one of u was surprised how carefully i lined up the fg matting in the boxes, heh heh, only reason i did that is cos im using a combination on core mat (thatswhat u can see all nicely layed out) and fg matting......it ends up being stronger that than the same thinkness of fibreglass (or so the guy told me)...its basically a layer of resin, fg matting, core mat, fg matting, and finally resin again...

as for the size of the sub boxes, i wouldnt have a clue how big they are (litres etc) so im gonna try em out first or more likely modify them a bit to use a little bit more space the i didnt think i had before, but yeah, i hardly had and space to play with anyway.

as for inverting, never really been a fan of inverting the subs and plus i prolly wont be able to as the floor wont be able to lift up cos the magnets would get in the way...

anyway...heres some more pics for u to keeps tabs on...

good old floor framing with the new floor locking mech and support strut getting a test to make sure they work as planned....and they do... :)
