u just take the special tools, or something in its place, move the tools so the ends are moved closer to the deck (ie. the ends u hold move towards either side of the car) and the unit pulls straight out...

yeah theres a special tool for it and its bloody expensive too. the ends of the U hooks have like a small ball bearing that locks into the clips which you then push to the sides to unlock, thats why using a coat hager wont work as i found out firstly by trial and error. Try your local ford dealer/service place, usually if you ask nicely someone will do it for you as it only takes a few minutes. If you were in melb i would have done it for you with my set.
best of luck mate

do you wanna put back the stock deck or another cos if so try and use the original brackets from the stock unit and drill a few holes to match up those of the unit otherwise use the mounting cage. But what are ya gonna do with the space left by the double DIN????

cool they got it out :)

u need the pocket underneath as it helps support the deck!
then u need to drill into the sides of the bracket adn then into the metal of the dash

i dont think that looks any harder. if you were going single din you would be best getting the pocket from ford.

To QWERTY68:
Putting in a double DIN DVD and screen combo fits, but you will need to do a little filing.
The ford deck has rounded corners, and i found my double DIN wouldn't quite fit in.
Also, there isn't much space behind there so it can be hard to tuck the cables out of the way when sliding the deck in.

Fit the sleeves in the hole any way you can then slide in the deck.
For a really secure mounting, you can remove the whole fascia and fibreglass the sleeves in place from the back. consider this coz mine are a bit loose, it's noticeable when you remove and replace your deck, the pushing tends to move your mounting sleeve a bit.

I also made a trim to go around the decks that matched up to the opening for a factory look. check the pic attachment.
