All I can say is the vehicle from which I removed the auto aerial was from a 2000 model Series AU II with no other description.
Mine is also an AU Series II June 2000 with no other description so it's difficult to say if its a Forte or anything else, its simply a Falcon AU Series II Year 2000 and thats about it. For some reason it was a manual aerial originally. The Radio / CD unit is a Kenwood brand, I don't know if there was any wires that came with it that was designated power aerial. I had the factory fitted cd / radio removed as each time the battery was disconnected one had to enter the unlock code and the other reason is that it did not support mp3 music files, only wma files as far as I'm aware of. If it supported MP3 music files I would reinstall it. Photos will be taken Monday. Cheers |

Ok here are some pics of the vehicle.
I have no idea what model is which when there are no other descriptors. Cheers.

Hmmm,
How interesting , so its bit of a bitsa. Off topic I know the header for the radiator tank does not have a sensor, big difference in the cost too. According to Ford...without sensor $80.00, with sensor $160.00..just for a piece of plastic. Why would you need a sensor when you can pop open the bonnet and see the level of coolant? |

Does this sensor act like some type of fail safe device, that is, if coolant level gets too low will it shut the engine down?

Its actually a brilliant idea... Because when your cruising down the high way and blow a heater hose you will get the light on the dash before you cook it... Gives enough time to switch it off and come to a rest somewhere...
If your cluster has the capability, then the light comes on with the sensor disconnected... As far as I'm aware all e series had this plug in the loom, and only the 6 gauge cluster had the light... I imagine all Au would have the plug too? Personally I think its a brilliant idea... I'm surprised more cars don't have one... Cheers, Tim

Yeah well EA falcons with the 6 gauge cluster had this feature (never looked at any with the 3 gauge cluster)...
My ED had the 3 gauge cluster from the factory... I added the 6 gauge cluster, the light comes on... Plug in the header tank (full of water) and light goes out... Was easy for me...

Ford have always been know to do weird things... Esp when you get close to a model change... You end up with a little from column a and a little from column b in a car from column c...

The old man has an XH hybrid ute at work atm which has done a head gasket...
So you have an AU head, on an EL block, in an XG ute, with an EF/L front end, with an EF/EL instrument cluster and an ED centre console... Its the most bitsa vehicle I think I've ever seen...
