hey guys i have a problem with my stock cd player...
was working fine for a fair while, now it seems to be really sensitive and skips on almost every song...whether it be a brand new cd or and old one.

any ideas or fix's would be great

replace with aftermarker head unit = fix.

easy fix yes...not keen on having an aftermarket unit under my a/c unit looks ugly

really? im about to install one into my ba myself.
think about it my ba is 03. so the head unit in it is 9 year old technology.
back when you could still buy a vcr player and tapes from the shop.. :roll:

lol i c ur point...but a cd player is a cd player...don't see the point in having a cd player with another connected and only 1 working...might as well brought a '80 model corolla left the stock AM radio in it, install a tape deck and put a stacker in the boot...

haha very true.
you can go to the effort of pulling out the whole icc, cut out the existing stereo and installing a good one.
plus playing with all the wiring. lol.

mines gonna get a silver strip over the cd hole and thats about it.

Have you tried a CD cleaning disc, maybe its just a dirty laser?

yer I've use various cleaning disc's nothing seems to help.
buying a new one is a last resort but looks like its ment to be.

I'm using my ipod at the moment

I paid $250 from FTG, and the Ford handover cost me about $50. Sadly there is no choice as it is an integrated unit.

yep know what u mean.
did u install it urself? if so is it a big job?
have had stareo installation experieriance if not to complicated id do it myself
