hi there all. i have a ba 2002 xr6 ute.
i have recently just put a sound system in
-pioneer avic f310bt
-kenwood 1000rms mono
-pioneeer 800watt 4 channel
i have the one big positive cable runing to a distrubution block and off to the amps and running both negatives from the amps to the battery and ffor the headunit im getting my power and ground from the ciggy lighter!!!!

now for sum reason in the front right speaker i have got this high pitched engine noise that rises and falls when im on the acelerator and the other three speakers and sub sound really dull??? but sumtimes it works fine its giving my the freaking s**t something hard any help would be great or advice?????

my car also is lagging in go when i put my foot down and give it some???

Are the speaker wires or RCA's running next to the power wire? If they are this can usually cause the engine noise. As for the ground, are you running another wire or just have them bolted to the car somewhere? As long as you have a good bolt (no paint/good connection) you shouldn't need to run another wire for the ground.

I have a BA xt with kenwood 1000w monoblock and 600w 4 ch and have no problems.

Run your earths straight to the body, shortest lead possible. Make sure no speaker wires/rca's are near the power cables. Also try another remote wire, not from the lighter socket.

hit here cheerz guys will try today and sort it out...heaps helful.....
do any of you seem to have engine lagging like the car dosent jump out of its skin when u put your foot down after you installed the stereo???
and yes im running both negatives off the amps straight back to the battery terminal?? would i be best to ground them on the body or is what ive done ok?

Better to run shorter earth straight off the body
