I would like to install an aftermarket headunit but dont want to put it into the tissue box. Has anyone put them anywhere else (like the glove box )?. Does the unit have to be in a horizontal position ? I intend to run it thru the AUX input into the existing sound system. My car is a BA Falcon

i have mine in the tissue box holder and have no problems using it as it has a tilt face, but i have seen them placed where the analogue clock is usually placed on the ghias.
If this is too much though and your willing to pay the extra Alpine make a unit which integrates into the standard CD system and allows you to add subs amps and what not. http://www.alpine.com.au/products/index ... section=21 hope it helps

30 degrees is a pretty steep angle. When putting it where the tissue box holder, the angle is about 10-20 degrees. So it should be fine there. You can mount it in the glove box some how I guess...at least you know its hidden as well. Or if you want to go wild...the roof LOL phong =P~

Tissue box holder.
Seen one done in the glove box, but then it becomes impossible to use unless it comes with a remote, and you drive around with the glove box open. No thanks. Pick a good headunit and it blends right in. It even lights up the same blue as the rest of the dash. Mine:

I've got a BF Futura at work. It certainly is very different. 1/3 the price though, so you've got to expect that.

I rewired everything, didn't mess with the ICC's wiring at all.
I ran new power and earth wires from the fuse box, and new speaker cable from the amps in the boot through to the doors. The doors are hard to do, but the rest is easy enough. I've done a few cars now, so have a bit of experience. (don't buy korean, EVERYTHING is sharp, lost a lot of skin and blood doing a Daewoo).
