Hi fordfans...

I have a BA XR6T with premium sound.

Just wondering, If I want to turn the screen into an in car TV / DVD player - what are the best ways of going about it?

I have heard that a digital set top box can be fitted to run TV in the car - is this true?

Cheers,
ADZ

I bought a converter box off a dude that helped design the ICC for ford. Cost around $400, but was totally worth it. Doesnt cut any wires and wont affect warrantly. I run a JVC DIVX/MP3/DVD through it - the standard screens have suprisingly good picture.

I cant remember his details though - but I did post them on fordxr6turbo if you do a search through my posts on there (only about 30 of them so shouldnt be hard).

this box pluds directly into the stock icc and allows another 2 screens to be run off it, and ahs 3 seperate inputs for dvd, xbox, sat nav etc and via remote through the stock ir port on teh icc you can choose what is displayed on each monitor, so the front may have sat nav while the back screens have the xbox runing through them etc, Its rrp is $349 i think and a extra $70 or something for the remote.

You could get a converter like this - http://www.carconverters.com.au/products/Signal%20Converter/236.html
or this - http://www.sso.siemensvdo.com.au/files/HCQXZUFOP6/MI2300%20datasheet.pdf
or this - http://www.highway.net.au/parts/converters/2019.html
which converts the signal to one that can run directly to your Factory ICC

Alternatively, you could buy or build a car computer which has the correct output already and install a TV Tuner for Digital TV

and a DVD player to watch DVD's

I am pretty sure that would be Fadi from ASL Logistics.

I used the same one Panda mentioned http://www.carconverters.com.au/product ... r/236.html with my alpine DVD HU.
Quite easy now that I understand the connections. Straight into the ICC without cutting any wires at all.

Got my setup through Fadi at ASL - great guy and extremely helpful. I have additional headrest 9 Inch 16:9 screens attached to my system - works great.
