Why would you want to stuff around and do something like that???

Or at least install the unit straight, or in the GT-P tuck the wiring out of sight...very bodgy looking installs....

Nothing wrong with the factory unit, and with the Alpine upgrades available, they can sound even better.

Vehicle hub (your alpine upgrade) still leaves you with stock cd and radio. Which means if you have a XT or similar like me, single cds only.

My unit on the other hand does everything vehicle hub does except it has 5 or 7 band equaliser (can't remember which), MP3 and WMA, crossover, 3 x 3v preouts, media expander. and the list goes on i hope i've made my point because i'm sick of simple people not thinking about the bigger picture before they post. There is a lot to be said about keeping it looking original, but there's more to say about adding aftermarket units (unless you have a top of the line standard stereo,

I can see your point with the basic system, I do not agree with Ford making it impossible to just replace the head unit, but it did not look straight in the photo....I will take your word for it being straight as I have no reason to doubt you

Ah, turn up brightness on screen. No problems there, they were taken just after install. They've been fixed up since, as said I use the space down there, fingers getting stuck in wiring would be annoying.

Just a thought. It is slanted slightly towards the driver in the pic, this may make it seem crooked but yeah. Maybe one day i'll actually find the time and meet some people from this forum, that way people can see for themselfes. Problem is finding the time.
