Hi there F'Modders,

The CD player in my BA XR6 will not load a disc at all, for
some reason. I've tried with the 'load' button, but it just
keeps saying 'No Disc' and still will not take one in.
I've read the manual and no real help there.

I'm not very good with stereos at all, and know pretty well jack.

Radio part works fine.
The car is new to me, so I don't have any history.
Does this mean the CD player is broken? Repairable ?

Picture of the unit below.

Thanks.

is that a stacker in the dash? possibly 2 discs stuck in there and can't come out? had that happen once, not too hard to take apart with a bit of patience!!

I think its a stacker type.
It still says "no disc" all the time, but still, it may have
a couple jammed in there.
Might leave it to the experts me thinks.....

Update:
Yep, looks like there is a CD jammed in there.
Figure I'll take it somewhere and get it looked at.

Thanks for the tip there.
I've actually spoken to the dealer where I bought the car and
he is looking at sorting something out, as there is a 3 month
warranty in place.

I"ll check that lead anyway.

Cheers.

Warranty should cover it. The six disc stacker in my BA Fairmont was jammed and Ford were no help (twice, two dealerships, two visits). ASL were a great help to fix the stacker in the end.

If you can get it fixed under warrenty (highly likely), then go for it.

If not, it's relatively painless to remove the ICC and dismantle the CD player and remove a stuck CD.

I know its an old thread but my BA2 cd player locked up with only one disc in it and then jammed trying to eject the disc out. Can you replace them with just a single cd and not a 6 stacker.

I think you can but it might require reprogramming by ford first before it can work.
