anyone know a good way of drowning out the vibration from the back boot without just putting the volume up...having a subwoofer in there just vibrates the full thing.. i mean itz way more less noise then any commodore ive been in .. but it still is a lil noisy.. anyone ideas?

Get some good quality sound deadener.

fill all your gaps with expansion foam!! and put a thin peice of normal foam behind your number plate!!

yeah some of that dynamat sound deadening stuff makes a difference.. its good quality but its not cheap..

I experimented with expanding foam, but it was a waste of time and it made no difference, and ended up dropping on my boot carpet, and for those of you who have had that happen to them you know what a pain it is to get off..

I recommend either buying a lot of dynamat and doing it yourself, or even better, take it to a reputable car audio place and have them do it for you.

Also it helps to manually go through your boot and under your car and find out exactly what is rattling. For me the biggest sound came from this little metal plate that normally attaches outside of spare tyre wel to the bumper, but since i dont have a normal bumper it was just hanging loose and REALLY rattly..

silicone the bootlid bracing to the bootlid
fill the bracing with expanding polyfilla and then cover the interior surface of the bootlid with dynamat

that wll cure a LOT of your vibration problems

the urethane they use on the boot ribbing breakes away over time, just slide some matches between the boot lid and ribbing and inject silastic or urethane (not the silicone that has a vinegar smell, its acidic and may rust the boot) let it dry over night and then remove the matches. as the others say with the number plate just some foam or the adhesive foam strips like used on door seals. sound deadner matting is the ultimate after u have fixed all of the buzzes and rattles. keeps the sound in the car!!!

the sound deadener also lowers the resonant frequency of the panels
