howsie wrote: us audio made a good one not sure if they still do was about $400 to $500 and was a 4ch 75wrms per channel so each sub would have 150WRMS which is all most subs can handle. Other than this alpine typeX 1000WRMS
Although i think these are a little pricy. i'm not sure but i think they were $800 Haha The Kicker L7 is 750RMS WATTS not 150RMS WATTS would finda Stuff the sub up |

Obviously you try to match rms rating as close as possible. I think there is a misunderstanding i was saying that the amp would be putting out 150WRMS to each sub not 150WRMS for the sub itself. http://discountpowerparts.com/catalog/p ... ts_id=1344 this link is for a nice fusion monoblock that might be worth considering if you have the money, not sure of the price but i imagine it'll be expensive

Get a 2nd hand Alpine MRD M1000 to M1005.
Will cost 200-500 depending on model, but is an absolutely fantastic amp. Digital tuning & readouts, and its build quality is fantastic. |

I think you'll find most subvs are rated at far greater than 150rms, the cheapie $100 Pioneers are 400rms +. My sub is 750rms, and is being run off the Alpine Monoblock I mentioned at 1000rms, but its getting a clean signal, with the gains set to 0 (digital setup, completely different to dials). For the Kicker you'll need at least 750rms, if not far more. If you opt for a higher rms amp, and tune it correctly it will be working less than a lower rated rms amp to produce the same rms. This means your amp will last longer because its running cooler and is not straining. Always over spec your amps - Just be sure you can tune them properly. |

Just because its the same brand doesnt mean it was made for the sub, or anything at all really.
I'd put the high end alpine gear above anything from kicker. |
