Hi guys,

It's a pretty simple idea; in my car I am planning on adding some sort of material to the boot floor/walls and under the rear seat and rear arches to block road and exhaust noise..
I have for a while now just lived with the noise the car makes but after I have recently ridden in the back; it is 100% coming from back there and it is excessive compared to how quiet the front end is.

In the (popular) Dynamat range, from what I can tell Dynapad is the most suitable, but am not sure if I should also add a layer of Dynamat under for the first layer or not.
I am not looking to increase bass, SPL or reduce rattles; I solely want to make it quieter.

Anybody know of anything else that may would work, other than the Dynamat range?

I have been looking into this for a little while now and to be honest I still am not comfortable on what I've read and would love some real life non biased feedback and experience.

Appreciate the feedback and input guys, thanks.

spray the under body with sound deadener. can't remember the name of it but its like tar, well it sets into a semi hard waterproof surface. it comes in a aerosol can so your best bet is to ask someone at supercheap autos next time.

How much do you need to apply for it to be noticeable or effective?

Thanks for the tip, sounds good so far..

Dynamat is A+++ s**t, so I cant see why the Dynaxorb stuff wouldnt be any good. If you combined both Dynamat Extreme and Dynaxorb, it should be quiet as a mouse, however I would go for the Extreme if you wanted to use only one product. Its designed specifically to enhance car audio - but in order to do that it needs to cancel as much road noise as possible.
