My parents BF Futura has reverse sensors and ive been told these are a dealer fitted item so im guessing there has been a wiring stuff up somewhere as when u connect a trailer they dont turn off and all u hear is a long painful beep
now due to i know almost nothing about the wiring of a BF were would the problem be located and how exactly would i go about fixing it

It beeps because the trailor is behind the car.....
If its factory fitted then there is a reed switch inside the trailor socket that disables the reverse sensors. It is activated by a plug that contains a magnet to activate the switch. The plugs would be available I guess from Ford or maybe ask a local spares place.

or find the wires for the reed switch and fit a toggle switch and turn them off when you have the trailer fitted.
