Hey guys,
Just wondering what to use as a system remote in a 2006 BF XR6. Its just got the standard sound system atm, im just wanting to increase the bass and add a monoblock. Got everything else sorted but this is a little confusing. Can i use one of the phone looms behind the fuse box or something like that? Cheers, Matt |

not 100% sure if this is what your asking but if your after a remote on wire to turn on you amp when the cars turned on the easiest one would be the cigarette lighter supply...

yeap just splice into the +12v wire... its easy to get to.
Pull off the silver/grey surround from your shifter (auto or manual), undo 2 screws just behind the shifter/infront of the cup holder (one each side) and the 2 boomerang looking bits will lift up and away, and then that tissue holder/ pocket should pull right out of the dash (with cigarette lighter attached. hope that helps Cheers Cam

This is a bit of an older thread, but I'd be interested to hear how this worked out for you??
I had a BA MkII Ghia where I did exactly that (using hi-lo converters for RCA) and because the amps were already on (cigarette lighter turns on straight away) when the RCA signal arrived, I got a really loud pop through the speakers. So much so that I thought the subs were going to blow themselves out of the box. This could only be combated by turning the volume RIGHT down before powering off so that the signal was not too strong when it arrived on power up the next time. Just wondering if you experienced the same problems......

i run a similar setup but without the remote but don't get the popping. a good example would be having the amp already on, then turning on the radio and i don't get any noise what-so-ever, other than intended obviously.
i'm considering having a poke around the boot harnesses with a test lamp or multi meter and find a trigger.don't want to have to lift carpet again, not that it's a big job, i'm just a lazy man.
