Here are a couple of photos of my boot install. This amp rack was completely fabricated by myself at home. Not bad what the right tools and a bit of know how can do hey...!
Offcourse its all JL Audio. Nothing but. Nice and neat, plenty of boot space. It's all good.

0g from batt to boot, then distro to amps is 4g and amps to ground is 4g, distro for the neons is 8g cos i had it spare and the carputer will be hooked up with 8g 2

do you have a 0 gauge from the body back to the battery. you should if you don't cos your taking 0 gauge so you gotta give 0 gauge back otherwise you would have power restricted. Think of it this way - Supercharger with a 1/4 inch exhuast pipe on the other side would be useless.

nah cos the amps are running off 4g, the 0g runs to a distro and is powering the amps with 4g, therefore i only need a 4g grounding wire from each amp.

Nah he means battery to body grounding, not amp to body.
If your runnin 0g power off the battery you should have a 0g ground from the battery to the body of the car so it can charge properly. ATM I have 0 guage power off the battery and what looks like 18g (yes i know... its silly) grounding the battery to the car, atm whenever I start my car the battery light is on, I'd say thats why too... |

ED has better earthing wire then EL (boxcar engineering) but I'd still supplement it cooki.
I used to have a bass hit headlight dimming problem in old car. Ran a length of 4g to chassis, along with factory earth to block, and it lessened it a s**t.
