i replaced my bootlid 2 days ago.. (Ef fairmont white sedan).. -had to drill four holes fo the legs of the Fairmont ghia chrome number plate surround.. and bolted my chrome spear up..

visited bunings this morning and for 10.05 had myself a tube of clear silastic and the silastic gun..

i ran realy thick lines of the silastic between the frame and sheet metal of the bootlid and used my thumb in a plastic bag to evenly spread it out... it's drying atm.. -is a cheap mod.. and stops that annoying bootlid fully sick hectik vibrations to the beat..

silastic is translucent.. so you hardly see it.. and thats BEFORE you put the bootlid carpet in!..

i did the silastic trick along time ago.. but having to re-do it again due to bolting another bootlid up i thought this time i ill post up about it.. never had that problem on my old bootlid with lifting paint or rust... had been on there 3 years...

On my EL I used the expanding foam space filler, it worked well.

On the GT-P, it's Dynamat Extreme (was flashtac, but I replaced it, dynamat IS better, but IS more expensive).
