except that 1000W is the maximum value, the rms would probably be around 200....wheres if you have a better amp it would have 1000W max n around 4-500Wrms

also has better internal componentry...but as they say, you get what you pay for

Exactly......

Also not tryin to take the piss but just giving some info, your 2 12 inch 1000 watt subs wont be as loud as my one 350wrms digital design sub (its running 800wrms but dw about that :P) And the quality of bass coming out of boss stuff usually leaves a bit to be desired :) As skidder said u get what u pay for.

boss audio model that has 1000w max is a 4channel amp producing only 60wrms a channel. which bridged mode is around 120wrmsx2 (4 ohms)

i used to have 2x12inch sony xplodes running on a response 800wrms monoblock @2ohm and my mirror used to fall off, now im running a 15inch clarion sub in a 3.5 c/f ported box off a earthquake PA2350 @ 1140wrms and now my front window vibrates,

i started with a boss 10inch and an avalunch 1000w max amp and there now toast, one day i turned my stereo on and the amp went pop, no idea why, the sony xplodes prooved better then boss gear, and sony gear isnt that much more different from boss in price

sony isnt as good in the car audio markets as its competitors, which is weird as you would expect them to be decent as they are with home systems....well anyway the top 2 brands i wouldnt own are

1. boss audio
2. sony

and ones that i would use are pioneer, alpine, rockford fosgate, jl audio, some JBL, DLS, boschmann and a few others

yeh everyone has hit the nail on the head, boss is awsome gear for the price, bang for buck!! generally after much use and year or so has passed it will go BANG!(generally)..i had a 1000w..used to pump my single 12" clarion hard but as i got more into audio the sound was just real boring with no depth. So next anp was a cadence and ill never touch boss again..(only for a cheap a** system for a sigma or sumthin lol)

I reckon I'd get JBL speakers, damn they sound good. And a JVC USB H/U. Dang yeah!

Not in the know with subs or amps, I'd have to hear them first.

my brother and my mate both have the GT3 series 15" JBL 1000w (peak) subs. They pick up the lowest heartz ive ever heard...they were pretty cheap aswell. My brother is only putting 250wrms through it off a JL monoblock. My mate is running it off the big f**k off JBL touring series 5 channel amp . dont know too much bout that amp but its massive and strathfield had it for ages.
