Those subs cost $12 to make in Taiwan, My mates boss 6x9s literally fell apart after 2 months of use. All the gaps were glue was just came apart because of the cheap parts used to put them together. They arent bad for the price you pay but in general they tend to fail quite quickly.

I've got a 1000w boss amp in my ute and I had no troubles with it (except it ain't big enuf  ) and toddy has got a 1200w boss amp in his Sigma (yes SIGMA  ) and it works good: too good in fact, like speakers now rattling! Good cheap stereo equipment I say (but no one cares what I say  )

except that 1000W is the maximum value, the rms would probably be around 200....wheres if you have a better amp it would have 1000W max n around 4-500Wrms

also has better internal componentry...but as they say, you get what you pay for

I've looked at the internals of the amps and their head units and they're just slapped together with really poor design. Do a search on car audio forum and read some of the stories about Boss Audio... Generally, it's not reliable gear. You've obviously been alot more lunky than most people who buy it though, so good for you :)
