I've pulled the factory double din unit out of my AU. I have a Clarion double din unit to replace it, but when I slid it in, it's very loose, about 2mm of play each side.
Any tips on what others have used as brackets to hold the headunit in place there? It's not like the EF/L's where there is a rail and a spot for the bracket to bolt into. Last edited by twr7cx on Sat Oct 22, 2011 1:03 pm, edited 1 time in total. |

Factory headunit comes with brackets? use them on the new headunit then Just two little brackets. But to release them you have to push pins through the face of the headunit. I don't see how I would be able to do that with the aftermarket headunit to release it if I reused the factory brackets. |

Au is different to E series when it comes to HU installs and the mount points.

Blu-Tac and best wishes seems to be the order of the day.

I took the rubber stopper nob off the back of it and fitted it to my Clarion unit, pushed it in to the AU, and it's a nice tight fit at the back now - does slid in and out, but there is still some left and right play in it. I'm going to put a rubber strip on the sides to take out the left and right play and I think that might just do the trick. |
