? ... you either pick up an after market one from k-mart or super cheap, or you can get one from Ford. I did the latter when a local ford dealer was closing down and got it for about $12 :D

and if you do get the ford one, you get the option for the half mast function, by wiring it to the dash button (you will need the button as it is not there on the GLi) as apposed to the full mast/no mast option of the Aeropro aftermarket one.

Not possible, you need the high series BEM for that. The BEM controls the mast height function.

Ford do make a fully auto one for a gli which doesn't require any bem or switch upgrade... you may find one at a wreckers?

I bought one an electric ariel from repco, aeropro i think its called. I connected it to my headunit. I aslo went to d**k smith electronics and purchased a small switch, so i can put it up and down as i want. It works a treat. I put the switch on becuase when i listen to the CD i want the ariel down, plus it looks better.

Only problem with this ariel is that it is made as a replacement so i needed to add one bolt down the bottom of the braket to secure it to the car.

I was referring to Ugly Igley's post about the half height capabilities.

Aeropro is a good choice though. I have one and I love it.

This has been debated before regarding aeriels and decks/wiring. some decks have an independant wire in there harness to tell the aerial to go up/down same as turning on an amp. i know kenwood for example have this feature so the aerial only goes up when the tuner is selected.

I am actually contemplating modifying my maverick to have an elec aerial instead of using the pillar mount b**ch as they look cool when going up and down, plus it will give me better reception than the thing i got now
