I got some brackets from Bunnings, removed my passenger seat, drilled some holes in the base of the seat, fixed the brackets there, relocated the CD stacker cable to the passenger seat area, screwed the CD stacker to these brackets and now my CDs can be changed from inside the cabin.
I am working to improve the movement of the seat by bringing the CD stacker back a bit as it drags the movement of the seat forward and back. Otherwise, I reckon I did a pretty good job at it.

Is your stacker too deep to fit facing forwards? The mounting bolt holes are already there om EF/ELs for the facory stacker - you just need the correct brackets or to fabricate some.
I wouldn't be happy with it sitting there to get kicked..

No - I have tinted windows, and the unit is recessed about 50 to 75mm under the seat. Also, if the seat is moved forward, or an object is in front of it like a small bag or box, the vision of the CD stacker is obscured from the outside.

Thanks for the feedback stomper - I used brackets from Bunnings, as the ones for the boot were too awkward and too big, so some simpler right angle brackets did the trick, as these brackets had multiple hooles, only one hole had to be drilled in one of the brackets to fit, otherwise good.
Next time I mayremove the brackets and trim the bottoms down and paint them black, make them more flush and factory looking. The next stage would be to make a small "carpet curtain", which would hide the CD stacker altogether.

Holbrookau, I hardly have any back seat passengers in the car, I can't face the unit forwards, as I can reach the unit from my driver's seat (working from the back) and change discs. My own brackets are good enough as Ford parts can bee too much. Thanks for the feedback mate.
