Hi everyone,
I am going to buy a 2000 auII falcon futura and I was wanting to know how easy it would be to change the head unit. It currently has a double din six disc in-dash cd changer which i would like to replace with a single din performance head unit. However, the current unit isfit into the dash and looks like its moulded. The edges are also rounded so could this be replaced. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

To get the current head unit out you need 2 special "U" shaped wires that go in the 4 holes on the side of the unit. You should be able to buy them from Ford if you tell them you are a mechanic. If you get to see what they look like you can also just make them up your self, as they are pretty simple.
As for your 6 in dash head unit if you want to sell it let me know as I'd like to get rid of my poxy looking single disc one and get one like yours.

Yeah i got an AU2 xr6 ute and i pulled the stacker out and put in a new jvc mp3 headunit kd-LH915 and the way it is that it sits in the dash not flush like the orig stacker and i had to get a au1 pocket to fill the space. But still looks good.
